I want an ad 47 but some one said that an AR-15 was better, which one really is the best one ?

I am in a foul mood guys, so I added a poll to this thread.

Vote Early, Vote Often.

*edit* do your research, you are making a fool of your self

Bro, he's a young guy. He doesn't know his broom from a Colt just yet. Give him time.

Wow. I read this, and this song comes into mind as we're waiting for the results:

You're right Frosty but it is not like the AR vs AK topic hasn't been cover HERE and it is not like we haven't talked at length about what makes a good AK or AR.

I shouldn't be such a dick Frosty but homie needs to use the Search function.

*edited to add comment* I am not going to ban the kid based upon the vote. I just want your opinions.

True, and I'm well aware of it. At least he isn't spamming the forum in Polish ;D

As of this post, the vote is 4:1 against kicking him. He's new, perhaps inexperienced with researching info at all, and should be welcomed into a prepper community, not running into a spiked metal door in the dark with people on the other side screaming through the windows for him to find the brass doorknob with the electric current running through it.

You guys want a community of preppers? You want it to grow? This is part of it. Some questions are repetitive and annoying, yes. Want to fix a part of it? Make a thread for noobs, one that goes over all the basic questions a noob can possibly have. Post it, get noobs to read it ASAP when they first log on, and add any new questions to it as they come along.

Stop with the semi-hostile welcome. It's like inviting a stranger into your house, then "playfully" punching him in the shoulder and expecting him to be okay and not surprised/shocked and ready to defend himself. Let the new people get to know you first, and perhaps you'll get to know them, too. We didn't joke like this with each other when we first came together. It's been over a year for most of us, and that is a lot of time to grow into an online community and, for some of us, an indirect family. So, with lots of non-gay love: Don't Be Dicks.

'Merica...that's why we're here, ultimately, to preserve her (our traditional ideals and way of life) for ourselves and our posterity, through surviving a SHTF situation and rebuilding the Republic. Let's keep that the focus of this site. It's not just a good ol' boys hangout. The mission here requires effort (i.e., work) from all of us.

If I can begin to tolerate BwB, then I can see this kid staying for a while. If he has any questions or wants any help he can PM to walk him by whatever.

damn, I was late getting in on the vote.  Was watching CMA's.  That Swift girl winning again annoys the hell out of me.
Anyway, I voted for him to stay.  Someones got to annoy Mountain and BWB has been falling down on the job lately.  :)

Nuts!

Lol. That's cool. I'd like input from everyone on the forum, because I never remember where shit is, here or anywhere else.

Attention

Skyhawk, Spirit, backwoodsboy: This will be for guys like you. Hit me up with all the questions you have or think that a noob would have. Please think before you submit. I don't want questions you shat out and already had the answer to or could have used common sense to answer. This is your hint to take a notepad and pen around with you wherever you go the next three days and write down all your questions, then before you go to bed look at them again, cross out the ones that you answered by yourself, and save the rest for me. Please PM me the questions. You have until 11/12 (three days from tonight) to submit the initial questions to begin the thread.

To the rest of the members: I will be putting a thread together for the noobs. I am not Prepper Almighty. You all should know that already. I like helping people and helping our community work smoothly, but I will find it difficult to locate the relevant threads and provide relevant answers for some questions. I would like help when needed. I will post their questions when I get them, and what I cannot answer I will pass on to the forum in general, in that thread. More info will be available, and possibly clearer, more specific requests/instructions. Check back in three days, on 11/12. Please PM the answers, do not submit in the thread. This thread should have no comments. It is strictly FAQ for noobs.

Thanks to all involved. It will be appreciated.

I'm really digging the way this forum is such a mixture of people with different views on just about everything.  From guns, to political systems, to occupy, to space lizards, to young members.

You can't get any more real world than that.  Thank you guys for being who you really are and saying what you really think.  All of your honesty, realness, and willingness to be openly frank is refreshing in a world gone mad with political correctness.

Don't ban him, he needs the information as much as anyone else.

But do we really need to do this dance very time we get someone new?

The Noob Thread is a good idea because it allows us to reply to these dumb ass questions with "Look here" rather than getting frustrated over it.

ASPJ, epic rant. I agree but we were all dumbass kids once.

Oh, wow. I didn't even see his rant until just now. ASPJ, you make a lot of very valid points. The question, then, is how do you accurately separate those (noobs or otherwise) without a proper motivation from those who are just screwing around and do not care?
