Ballistic charts should only be used as a guideline IMO. Sure, they provide a rough estimate, but keep in mind that they are under ideal conditions. There is a reason why serious shooters record every single shot out of a rifle....every rifle is different and conditions change.
I know from experience that one of my rifles doesn't follow the ballistic charts...to my advantage though. It shoots higher than the charts say it will thereby indicating less bullet drop than advertized for some types of ammunition.
