Being on the weekly radio nets, it pleases me that we are able to discuss things which SHOULD be discussed over broadcast media (the propaganda mills) but is not. Simple things like local prices, food/tools/material scarcities, thoughts on garden seeds, canning/storage methods &etc. These are not only
not generally covered by the controlled media, but are often either censored and/or they are actively ridiculing (as per Saul D. Alinsky
) any thoughts of self-sufficiency.
Our on-air exchanges of regional reports, ability to hold round-table or one-on-one discussions after net & etc. is very valuable. If you're not participating in the ham radio nets yet, please consider joining. It's already valuable right now and
if things go SPLAT! as can so easily happen
with infrastructure based communications, grid &etc. it becomes increasingly valuable to be able to communicate independently, to send/receive reports of conditions outside of our immediate surroundings , exchange thoughts and to gain from the experiences of other who develop work arounds.
