U.S. Defense Secretary Leon Panetta let slip on Sunday the big open secret that Washington war hawks don?t want widely known: Iran is not developing nuclear weapons.

Appearing on CBS?s Face the Nation on Sunday, Panetta admitted that despite all the rhetoric, Iran is not pursuing the ability to split atoms with weapons, saying it is instead pursuing ?a nuclear capability.?

That ?capability? falls in line with what Iran has said for years: that it is developing nuclear energy facilities, not nuclear weapons.

He says that even if they are developing nuclear power for a bomb, they are no where near the point they need to be for them to assemble a functioning nuke. However he still pushes for further sanctions.

They're building Iran up to be more of a paper tiger than anything. Wonder why? Are they trying to keep our eyes on Iran, while there is something else going on with another nation? Chinese are still saying stuff about America and their newer military plan, and Russia is being Russia.

Maybe I'm thinking into this too much, but it really reminds me of Iraq, and all of those WMDs they supposedly had. What was the precursor to the invasion turned out to be a dud (and I think it's pretty well known that Iraq didn't support bin Laden).


When it really comes down to it, to me anyway, Iran is a dog who's bite isn't as bad as it's bark. It's one thing to talk shit, but to back it up is another.

So, you are saying that you actually believe anything Obama or anyone in his administration says?  Wag the dog.  Obama is up for reelection and is planning on cutting the military to pieces the same as Carter did.  With his record he needs all of the cover his administration can give him.  In other words, they are going to lie to us. 

Iran is freaking rich in oil yet they can't produce their own fuel other than in one refinery, so they import gasoline.  This being the case they invest their country's wealth in Nuclear power plants instead of oil refineries which would be a hell of a lot cheaper and come on line quicker.  Yep, that makes a lot of sense.  IF THEY'RE TRYING TO BUILD A BOMB.

Israel and US secret services really want to stop Iran's nuclear capability, I think what Panetta says is total bullshit and Iran is really going for the bomb.
