For years, my wife's uncle was convinced that there was thousands of Iranians in boats on the four corners of the USA waiting to attack. Not sure if he still believes that, nor did I ever pursue the reality part of that conversation with him. Most of the time it's better to just smile, nod, and change the conversation in such situations.
