I can go either way on this bill.
1) I don't think the Federal Government has the right to make states do something. IF a
companion bill in the Senate was passed and Barry signed it into law I would think their would
be a court challenge put forth by CA., NJ, NY, IL, to name a few. If it won in the courts just
think what future laws the US Congress could impose on the states.
2) I have a RI CCW and a PA CCW which means I am leagal in 35 or so states across the Union. Is
it a pain when I go through a state that does not recognize my CCW- Yes. But again as I stated
before, if you get caught CCing in a state that you are not legal to do so then you are not truly
CCing.
My contention is if you went through the back ground checks for your state it will have been
determined that you are OK to CC. Not unlike taking a driving test in one state and being
allowed to drive in all states of the Union.
Again this is a tough one for me to decide what side of the issue I am on. Reguardless a companion bill in the Senate will not pass and if it does Barry would never sign.
