Probably wouldn't of happened if they would allow people to CCW and open carry there...just sayin',
hate to play devil's advocate, but I doubt even CCW would have helped in this scenario. in order for CCW to work, there has to be a clear and present danger for anyone carrying to first notice, then identify, then engage. according to the Fox article, the guy blew away a campus cop out of nowhere, and then ran away, where they later found another body. then the dude disappears.
now, CCW CERTAINLY could have prevented at least 30 or 31 out of the 32 total deaths in the previous VT shooting, because that guy was just out in the fuckin open dumping mags at people. in fact, to this day, I've always wished that one of those VT students would have been ILLEGALLY carrying on campus that day in '07 and effectively stopped the threat. that would have really made a solid case for campus carry. (as if there isn't enough of a case already, but that one would have been hard for even a libturd to deny)
