I love Shadowstats, pricey to subscribe but some interesting numbers to play with. By 1990 calculations, it's around 12%, by the pre-1980 calculations, it's around 16% now. When it was high in the late 70's and early 80's, interest rates were jacked sky-high to cool things off. They won't touch them in any substantive way now, people panic if the Fed criminals even
talk about raising the prime a couple tenths of a percent.
