World Wide Derivatives Hits $707 Trillion
« on: November 29, 2011, 08:22:07 AM »
World wide derivatives jumped $107 Trillion to $707 Trillion between December 2010 and June 2011 (Six months).

For a definition of what a derivative is scroll down this link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Derivative_(finance) to Usage however, in short a main function of this financial tool is:

Quote
Derivatives allow risk related to the price of the underlying asset to be transferred from one party to another. For example, a wheat farmer and a miller could sign a futures contract to exchange a specified amount of cash for a specified amount of wheat in the future. Both parties have reduced a future risk: for the wheat farmer, the uncertainty of the price, and for the miller, the availability of wheat. However, there is still the risk that no wheat will be available because of events unspecified by the contract, such as the weather, [global collapse, war] or that one party will renege on the contract. Although a third party, called a clearing house, insures a futures contract, not all derivatives are insured against counter-party risk.

So lets add another ingredient to the pot on the stove which is slowly simmering away called "world collapse."

How is your grain (Corn, Rice, Wheat) supplies? Seed supplies?

The LDS Bishop houses have grain at very reasonable prices. Check out this site for what they carry and prices plus where a Bishop House is located in your area.

With the help of a Bishop House located about one hour away from my home I was able to buy about 3/4 of my one year's food supply for under $500- per person. The other 1/4 I purchased from local restaurant supply houses and big box retailers (Costco, Sam's, BJ's, etc).

I purchased 50#'s of corn and wheat seed last week for about $25-.

If anybody would like my one year food list just PM me. It's in excel format so I can not post on this site.

Good luck- Don't put off to tomorrow what you can do today!

I'm trying to picture in my mind how much money $707 Trillion is.  It's not computing.

Is there even that much as cash in all currencies combined on the planet?  The largest part of that has got to be just numbers in a computer somewhere.

I forgot to post the Bishop House link and can't go back and edit. Here it is: http://providentliving.org/content/display/0,11666,7977-1-4352-1,00.html

Sledge,
it's all funny money. There isn't enough precious metals in the world to cover $707 Trillion. This is what people don't get...It's all funny money and it will come collapsing down- This month? Next month? Three months? Only the IMF, Soros and Barry know.
