I wonder how the population would react if the swat guys ventilate one of the protesters.

Do you have a branch of the police specialized in controlling riots, with hydrant cars, shields and whatnot?

Not around here. But there is an APC armed with a water cannon.... don't ask me how I know.

Honestly, I have been saying that for some time now, months before occupy fags started taking over I said " there is going to be some riot somewhere, and some doucher is going to shoot a cop then all the cops are going to be trigger happy and engage some innocent protestor miss completely and kill a baby. That will be the spark this pile of gasoline soaked kindling will need. "

I don't agree much with their message but those people do have a right to protest.    That picture is just crazy!  The Chapel Hill Police must be absolutely terrified of the protesters to come out armed like that.  What was being broadcast from the police megaphones, "Disband and leave the area or we'll shoot"?  Or "We are here to help.  Resistance is futile."

The last time I can remember armed men pointing guns at protesters in America was Kent State.  Only they were the NG.

I find this picture disgusting.

SAN FRANCISCO -- One San Francisco police officer was slashed by a razor and another had his uniform torn and cheek cut in a clash with Occupy San Francisco protesters Saturday afternoon, authorities said.

About 3:30 p.m., near the Embarcadero and Broadway, police attempted to prevent marching demonstrators from blocking the intersection where MUNI light rail tracks are located.

A female protester emerged from the crowd and an "exacto razor blade attached to a pen or pencil-like object," San Francisco police said in an email.

"The female slashed the inside of the officer's hand and ran back into the crowd before the officer had time to realize he was cut," police said.

In a second incident, a protester grabbed an officer's police radio and ran back into the crowd. As the officer attempted to retrieve it, a second protester blocked the officer and tore his uniform and cut his cheek, police said, intimating that a weapon had been used.

The officer retrieved his radio and both male demonstrators escaped into the crowd, police said.

Both injured officers were treated and released at the scene. No arrests have been made.

Boone I think the police have a right to defend themselves the same as everyone else.  But I get a sick feeling in the bottom of my stomach when I see Police handling protesters with rifles.  If someone is shooting at them, heck yeah, bring out the artillery.

Like I said earlier, I don't agree much with what some of these protesters are putting out.  But I do agree that they have a right to say what they think even if a lot of it is BS.  And they should be able to do that without having a rifle shoved in their face because of what they are saying.

They need to police themselves because having idiots trying to cut or injure the Police is just going to cause them more problems.  Which to be honest, some of them would probably like to see.

When they stop crapping in the streets and pimping out 14 yr old girls, raping and assaulting folks...then maybe they can get someone to listen.

Do that on my street and your hind end better be accommodating of a size 13 steel toe boot.

Protest is 1 thing then go home at night like normal folks, don't homestead with 100 of your nasty druggie buddies. Other people have lives and live in those areas...these tools are infringing on those peoples lives.

I can see this going badly.  One of the many reasons to hate cities.
