yeah if you shoot him in the chest and it dosent do anything aim higher. and he should have kept shooting the guy laying in the door way. as the video shows he was trying to grab for his gun (not that he probably realized it at the time). you never know so just keep shooting until everythings totally dead. plus that bastard got to live 2.5 more years.... screw that.

Don't always work that way... they recently convicted a pharmacist here in OK for shooting a kid who was involved in an attempted armed robbery. http://abcnews.go.com/US/oklahoma-pharmacist-dead-robbers-accomplices-life-prison/story?id=14053802  The old guy said he thought he saw the kid trying to get back up so unloaded in him after reloading.  Eliminate the threat in my opinion but theres 2 parts to the saying:

I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6.

Those 12 may see you as a monster for protecting your own life/family.

yeah that pharmacist fucked up bad though... i wouldnt recommend execution style on a kid who was unarmed the whole time. all im saying is keep shooting. if you have time to stop, go grab a different gun out of a locked box and come back then yeah the threats totally disabled and any futher shots are going to be hard to explain.

agreed. sometimes we allow our judgment to become clouded by vengeance rather than focusing on the objective. the objective (from a legal standpoint) is not to send the fucker straight to hell, it's to eliminate the threat. once the threat is eliminated (whether the guy is dead or not) then there is no legal protection under self defense. if you keep going after the point where the fucker has officially stopped doing whatever it was he was doing, then you're just "teaching him a lesson".

as much as I'd love to see some BG heads a'sploded, I can't say I disagree with the law on this one.
