Your fave superhero
« on: March 03, 2013, 12:34:10 AM »
I know mine isn't a standard choice, but I like the Shadow.  He was originally evil but found redemption.  He rocks twin long-slide 1911's and has a great underground network like every guerilla fighter for justice should.  Unfortunately the politicians in Washington and media has stolen his power to "cloud men's minds."

Post your faves here!

Not a comic book guy so all I know about superheros comes from movies. I gotta go with the Punisher (Thomas Jane not Ray Stevenson) the only practical superhero I've come across and he doesn't wear spandex.

I hate superheros with their spandex suits, and specially I hate the ones using capes.

@CrookedSights, that short is fucking sweet

No favorite super hero's only past hero's that were mortal and died. Some are:

> Robert Rogers
> Daniel Morgan
> Benedict Arnold - Before becoming a traitor
> Jeb Stuart
> John Mosby...

To name a few.

I'm with you JMac!

I was going to say men like,

Sergeant First Class Randall David Shughart

Master Sergeant Gary Ivan Gordon

These men didn't wear tights or capes yet they managed to stack bodies knowing that they would end up in the pile before long.

"Of course the greatest hero of all time is undoubtedly... Jesus Christ." Walker wrote...I concur!

Funny you mention sewing and making your own frontier clothes. I was heavily involved in reenacting in the late 90's on up to the middle 2000's. I made legging's and moccasins out of brain tanned deer hides. Made a hunting smock too out of linen that resembled a night shirt. Used a sash for a belt with a scalper and tomahawk. Topped it off with a brown hat with a broad brim and a low crown.

Shooting accoutrements were:

> Late Lancaster Flint lock, (made for me by Matt Avance at Tennessee Valley Muzzleloading)
> Shooting bag and
> Powder horn.

My persona was post American Revolution: explorer, woodsman, hunter. I need to get back to treken and participating in woods walks again.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

To this day I may miss a center fire rifle deer season but I will not miss muzzleloaderdeer season.

Hey if you have a picture share and I will do likewise.

That's like asking "what's your favorite band?, movie?", there need to be genres or categories of sorts.

Favorite tv superhero: Superman (George Reeves was dreamy), although Batman with Adam West was awesome too...

Favorite superhero to dress up as: Wonder Woman, although my Robin costume commands a respect that the character himself never new ;)

Favorite superhero from a graphic novel: Batman (Arkham Asylum)

Favorite chick superhero: Sucker Punch

Favorite modern day pioneer: Walker (I think your mullet was bitchin')-- Oops, I took too long to type and now it's a tie with JM.

Wow, I am a bigger geek than I thought...  :-[

Yeah hj. I loved those woods walks! Our R&G club has 18 stations for the walk. My favorite was the running boar.

The gong was shaped like a boar and someone would pull on a rope and the boar would run (move) about 25 yards left and/or right. To this day I never hit it.
