Virtual Private Networks
« on: November 23, 2024, 10:36:26 AM »
Anyone use one?  Any good?  Worthwhile?  Best one?

I have seen some free ones, some at $2 a month, some at $8 a month.

Quick search for VPN Free shows me those 2 below.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

We use Proton's free VPN. It works well for us, I like it.

That's what I was thinking.

Is it a download and use all the time, browser of choice (Firefox) runs through it?

Use when you are banking, personal comms or ?

Has its own browser that is hides location and your site number?

1) Yes, It is an app that you download and install, all internet traffic goes through the VPN. Any browser can be used.

2) We use it all the time for everything - banking, personal comms, etc.

3) No, Proton does not have its own browser, we use Brave.

Can you do general internet surfing without going through that?

Considering you do not care if you are tracked or your history shows you were netsurfing between X and Y o'clock on a specific date and time, as in building a cover story?

You would need to disconnect the VPN to use the internet without it.
It is fast and easy to connect and disconnect. You can choose the fastest connection or choose a specific country. I have it set up on all my devices.
