Beverage of choice.
« on: January 29, 2012, 12:07:05 AM »
What was your favorite everyday drink growing up and what's your favorite drink now?

When I was younger it was Josta. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Josta

Now it's this http://unclescottsrootbeer.com/ Beats the hell out of any run of the mill root beer I've ever had. No joke, but I'm greatly considering stock piling some lol.

At the risk of being called a redneck, I've always loved RC.  My buddy Nyman is a Dr. Pepper fiend.  BTW - can anyone sneak me some cans of Bud Light while I'm in the hospital from Tue-Thur?  Hahahaha!

Anyone remember a canned beverage called "apple beer?"  Last time I saw it was in the early 80's.  It was like a carbonated apple/malt thing. (non-alcoholic)

Glennfiddich 15 is my favorite scotch.  I haven't found a favorite beer yet, because I like them all.

Dale's Pale Ale makes a fine everyday beer.

Porbably the best beer I've ever had, which is impossible to find, is called Backwood's Bastard.  http://www.foundersbrewing.com/the-lineup/backwoods-bastard

Yeah, you mean this http://www.applebeer.com/ ? I think there's been a few companies that made something similar. I don't think it ever really caught on though. At least not as well as hard apple cider caught on for our nation in the 1800's lol. I got to watch this documentary on the apple tree a few months back. Did you know if you took an everyday apple and planted the seeds you'd get a totally different apple tree for every tree planted? There's a guy in New York with an orchard that specializes in this. I believe they said he had around 3,000 different apple trees. All taste different. And that our apple orchards are actually at risk because they maintain the same breeds throughout the nation which allows bugs to grow defenses against their natural defenses.

Derrr...Just add dot com...Why didn't I think of that?  That's probably the same stuff, the writing in the logo looks familiar...at least from what I can remember from 1983.

I feel ya on the Dew. I'm a sucker for the Baja Blast flavor. I'm trying to avoid the caffeine though now so I gotta stray away from it. Doesn't help when you're stressed out.

Man, don't eat the fake sugar crap. Try agave sweetener or xylitol. Though beware the xylitol. Both are great for diabetics, but the xylitol taken in quantities may cause some unwanted weight loss in the bathroom if you get me.
