Somewhat. I just thrive in cold weather. It doesn't bother me a whole bunch. That, and it makes bugging out a hell of a lot easier for me.

Not me mate, just a local trapper. And it's a coyote. Few days ago he got a 100lb one. Big ol beast.

100# coyote? WOW! The biggest I ever saw dead that is was around 60#'s. They are mostly in the 30-40# range at our cabin.

Yeah, up here they say that they're part wolf, and supposedly they came across an ice flow from Quebec/Labrador.


Those fuckers have nearly wiped out the caribou on the island sure, but the Gov. doesn't want to admit it, and rather blame poaching and global warming lol. I can remember as a kid back in the 90's and seeing hundreds of thousands of those caribou in herds. Wish I had pictures of it. It was quite amazing.

I really like spiders outside, and I don't mind them in the house ether. But I can't stand brown recluses, freaking scary.

I didn't even know what a "brown recluse" is, so I google image it and after seeing the injuries its bite produces I can tell you I got scared of them too

Oh man, I was bitten by a brown recluse in 2002 and let me say that little shit kicked my ass. I'm a big boy, 6'2 and 260lbs and have rarely let things get the best of me. I was bitten between the shoulder blades I could barely move my arms or open my mouth. I ran a fever and had red streaking running up my neck and arms. I felt like I was run over by a truck. It took a trip to the ED and several follow ups to my Dr before I was to 100%

My sister inlaw was bitten last year on the leg by a Brown Recluse spider Buck Naked. We do do not know if she was bitten up at the cabin or at here home.

She ended up in the hospital for two days with with all kinds of stuff dripping into her. Like you stated she also had red streaks but they were running up her leg.

More in line with this thread - It occurs to me that we should all have a basic knowledge of the dangerous creatures that live in our general areas. Most, if not all of us, do. However, how many people know home remedies for something like a brown recluse bite? There won't be an ER if SHTF. What do you use/do?

I live rurally so I will have more time (perhaps weeks or months more) than you city-slickers.  I will Bug-In at first and them perhaps bug-out later.  Hoosier National Forest looks kinda good...
