Did a counterdrug thing at Truman Annex (JTF-4) in Key West, Florida 1991.  There was a static-line water jump available and extra chutes available.  I tried to strap-hang but the SEALS were too snobby and too good to let me jump with them.  I was fully qualified and trained for that type of jump.  Inter-service cooperation?  I could have sharpened my training but they wouldn't have it.

I agree with you.  When they get pinned they get a snobby attitude.  (An, oh yeah, we're bad kind of thing.)  It usually wears off when they get in a hot zone with you.  Funny how that works.

Funny how that works huh ? [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

I took Japanese in high school for a year than switch to German. Then French. Objected to Spanish on the principle alone. Needless to say I only speak enough Japanese to sound like a complete tourist. My German can be convincing though in small talk. French? Screw it. You can probably just speak with a lisp and get by.

I dunno bro, I've seen that shit punch through an I beam so....

you lit the fire bro
as soon as i find an ar500 plate at a decent price........

i have 3/8 ar500 plate... pretty much no caliber will go through it... .308 does almost nothing to it...and ive seen 338 hits... bassically no damage to the plate at all.

Fuel hog i found mine in the desert..for some unknown reason a guy was target shooting and either forgot it or was too lazy to huff it back to his vehicle... it was a human shaped target, i had it cut up into smaller rounds. they also have group buys on sniper forums for pretty cheap.

62 grain ss109 5.56 bullet placed in a plastic insert and loaded into a .30 cal rifle case. In this case a .308

i see... whts the point of it? extreme velocity? id imagine it cant have any more energy then its slower heavier parent case caliber.

the faster it goes the more it will pierce
if i can load up a m855 bullet to go roughly 1500-2000 fps faster then it will probably go through the ar500 at closer ranges,

either way i will find out  [url=http://www.freesmileys.or

its just bassically going to end up being a .243 with a 62 grain bullet...which they already have.. it aint going to fly all that fast... just saying. the .243 shoots a 55 grain bullet at around 4k ft/s... its the same case... you can expect that or worse from a .223 stuffed into a plastic case and into a .308 case.

no matter what you get in velocity you lost in weight so you end up with the same energy. im not sure how much youll gain packing your energy into a smaller bullet diameter as far as penetration goes but id say the .243 is gonna do about what ever this sabot will. (unless theres more to this sabot then you guys are telling me) steel core bullets will deffinatly up the damage to AR500 steel... perhaps thats what the bullet in question (m855) is? but even then.. it might mess it up but i dont think its going to blow a hole through it.

well a 62gn round would go about 3900fps in a 243
the sabot would push it roughly 4500fps or so
then you add the tungsten steel core.....

or do they make api rounds for 5.56?
i could pull some bullets off and load them into sabots

EJR and I just took the wives to see it, it was pretty good.

Hell yeah!  That kicked ass.  My wife had nightmare's for two nights after that movie!  It was fairly graphic for her, and I thought it showed even more than Black Hawk Down.

The tactics were sweet to see, also their communication was good.  My wife actually asked me, "Do they really have little planes like that?"  LOL  I told her civvies are building similar things now for not much cost at all.

The action was freaking kick ass, and if you're into that sort of things, a lot of big machine guns, tons of ammo and explosions, and a lot of people getting their ass handed to them, then you'll love this move.

I have to admit, the whole time I was watching it, I just couldn't help but think, "Goebbels."

Go see this movie, though, it is completely kick ass.
