Book- Unintended Consequences by John Ross
« on: December 29, 2011, 09:33:59 PM »
Just curious: Has anybody out there read "Unintended Consequences" by John Ross? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unintended_Consequences_(novel)

I am about half way through it and it is a very good book. It is out of print but there are a few used copies out there. It is also making the internet circuit just like "Lights out" did.

The premise of the book is about our dwindling rights specifically the second amendment. It is fictional however all of the events in the book are based on actual events related to our rights being eliminated.

Just curious if anybody else has read the book and if you have, your thoughts.

Yeah man, I hear ya'.

I will see what I can do. First editions (1996) are going for $425- right now  :)) The first edition is a collectors item as the FBI sued Ross for a sentence accusing the FBI for corruption in the first printing. Ross reworded the sentence on insistence of the publisher.

In 2000 Ross and his family was harassed by the BATF (Not Explosives yet) and he had to get a lawyer to send a cease and desist letter- BATF did back off.

Frosty, as of 1998 this book was banned in Canada- I don't know if it is still. I didn't believe that Canada bans books and magizines so I did a small bit of investigation and yes Canada does ban some books. http://www.freedomtoread.ca/censorship_in_canada/challenged_books.asp

I am sure there is more to the story but my interest is low.  ;)

Anyhow, I will see what I can do.

Well now, I knew there were some books and stuff banned, but not like this. Must look into this further.

Well...now I HAVE to investigate this book. Banned from other countries? Attention from FBI and BATF? Must be some very interesting reading.

I was told you can go to: www.thepiratebay.org and down load it for free. You may have to down load free software to accomplish this like VUZE. I don't know but there you go.

Oh Frosty, i think this link does not work in Canada.... [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

...OK OK I am just kidding.  :))
