Registered as a republican tues so I could vote in the primary. I feel kinda dirty and can't wait to change it back to independent.

I understand that "dirty" feeling you refer to. Every time I see McCain I wince, grimace, and spit. The rhino's, moderates, and sold outs in the party drive me nuts. Some of them are not much better than the Democrats. And to be sure there are plenty of those bastards that have forgotten that the Government is the creation of the Constitution and is supposed to be limited.
Still, there isn't much advantage in most states to being registered as an Independent. As a Republican you can vote for whomever you want in the Presidential and Congressional elections plus have a say in the primaries.
