I buy all kinds of crazy crap for the packaging.

Coffee, 7.5 oz cokes, altoids and that nasty liquid breath freshener... How about you?

Wife.
Yeah, talk about overrated purchases.  Fill us with expensive booze and you might get to play with an empty box after you dump all of the hurt feelings out!  :o

I bought this set of powdered coffee/capuccino mixes for the great little 2" x 3" tin containers they come in.  The contents aren't a good replacement for my morning cup of joe, but once I get rid of it all by stirring a little into TG's coffee every morning, I can refill them with something useful.  I'll probably put some folgers instant in there even though the ultralight backpacking community may not approve of the weight...

I'm thinking about getting a monseter box of Silver Eagles.

Yea 500 ounces of silver Eagles is going for around $17,000 right now but look at that awsome box. I could put brass in it. I like to think of it as buying an awsome all American box for $17k and getting 500 ounces of silver thrown in for free!

Well I bought half a dozen chimneys for some of my kerosene lamps as my wife keeps knocking them over. I went to the store to pick them up and each one was packaged in a very sturdy double walled box.

The sales clerk started to take each chimney our of the box and wrap them in paper when I asked, "Can I have the boxes?"

The clerk said, "Yes. I was just doing this as most customers don't want the 'bulk' that the boxes offer."

Well I am going to use the boxes on my loading bench for bits & pieces, bullets, brass, etc.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

I too, like TG, scavenge Altoids boxes. I use them for my patch lube for BP shooting. My wife uses the patch lube for those cracks she gets in late winter on her hands.  :))

One day she was whining about how her hands hurt. I jokingly said, "try this" and passed her an Altoids can full of the afore mentioned lube.

She worked it into the cracks on her fingers and within a day they started to clear up. Within a week she had no cracks on her fingers and just kept up using the lube. We have boxes of the stuff laying about the house in the late winter months. She also offers it to her female friends.

If they only knew.....
