I havent read it all the way through yet but i agree with everything so far. But i didnt see any writing on the accuracy of a slug with fins though. In my opinion thats the way to go for a "Riot Gun" Because you dont need rifling that will fuck up your Buck shot patterning but you still achieve straight flying slugs in your smooth bore shotgun.

Reaver i hear a lot of people talk about the sabot slugs but i dont understand whats so special about them. Arent they just a plain lead slug?

Edit: Nvm i looked into it and they come in all sorts of variations it looks like (copper, lead). but still apears to require a rifled barrel in order to shoot reliably and perform as intended.

Yeah Kentatic Sabot Slugs need a special rifled choke to be accurate, in my opinion you are better off using a rifle or regular Foster Slugs depending what you got on hand. Sabot Slugs are just a novelty item in my opinion.

This is my slug of choice as of now for my "Riot Gun". Big ole fins to stabilize it, even the "Wad" is part of the slug and makes it id imagine much more stable being so long. The rear most section on that wad is actually larger then the bores diameter so its like a plunger in there soaking up every ounce of powder thrust on its way out. Then youve got that steel core to help penetrate. I didnt dare shoot my fancy 3/8'' steel target with it after i saw what just a plain jane lead slug did to it.

I love the wax slugs, their ballistic isn't the best, but the terminal effects in comparison with its price is awesome, specially from a prepper or SHTF scenario.
