I've got a Savage 10 in 7mm mag.  Nothing fancy but they are definitely solid guns that are up to the job.

Mine came with a muzzle break on it.  Talk about loud!  When I shoot it at the range people up and down the line look around to see who is firing off the howitzer.  I put Nikon Prostaff glass on it.  Again, nothing fancy but it does the job.

Nope, I have gotten into reloading.  I should but I've been trying to take care of some other priorities first.

I've already told you to come down when you can.  You've got my info.   :)

Savage  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co
I just posted a pic of my model 10 I got last week. I sold my old 111 to help pay this one off. Plus I need the space since I found out I'm inheriting some of my grandfather's guns when I go up this summer. I'm pretty sure one's a Remington 700.

After talking with you about it I think you will be much better served with a bolt action.

Sure the PLS repeats and what not but the modern fighting rifles cover the range it was intended for anyway and that Savage will not leave you wanting for range.

Good call brother, well played indeed.

No doubt, im not quite sure how much to put into a scope, I was thinking either a Redfield or a 3-9x42 POSP Zoom. Although I like Nikon Scopes too.

put every last penny youve got into a scope, rings, and base (if the one on the gun currently is a cheapy)... shake the couch for change before you buy a scope.

Did it come with the rifle? if so i doubt its of any quality... not because its a cheap rifle but just i cant picture them putting a 100 dollar base on it and staying at a competetive price. but if that "NF" stands for Nightforce you may be in luck... but even then i cant say for sure that nightforce hasnt got a contract with savage to knock out a bunch of cheapy bases for them... well anyways find out if its of good quality before you mount a scope to it... also you might wanna get a torque wrench that does "inch lbs"

The "NF" is a logo of some kind, the N and the F are attached, its kinda cool looking.

Yeah, thats the same logo milled in the base.

It was a consignment rifle from a local gun shop that was running a booth at the gun show, the rifle also came with an actual harris pivoting bipod and an aftermarket Choate stock. Slightly used but in great shape.

oh ok that explains a lot i couldnt find that damn rifle on savages site lol... ok so yeah id say the base is gonna be good to go. just make sure you retorque the bolts to spec and use blue loctite. i also rub a thin coat of blue loctite across the entire bottom of the base so it seals out moisture.

you may find that that bipod dosent go low enough in prone for some shots but you may not also.. lol.. looks like you found a good start to a good rifle on this deal.. also retorque the action bolts to 65 inch lbs but dont use loctite.
