The program "Life Without People" was talking about long term food life in freeze dried foods. They didn't show or give the name but it was definitly Mountain House to which they said, After 30 years it was almost as good as new and that there is no reason it shouldn't last 100 years. This was in answer to the question they asked themselves, What would be left in a supermarket in 30 years in life without people. My first thought was Honey, Rice, Pasta and Beans.
What is your thoughts?

Honey for sure. I think the other three would succumb to bugs. For example: Have you ever opened a package of pasta to find little bugs? By the way, still use the pasta...Just skim the bugs off the top of the water  :thumbsUp:

No, just cover them with a bit more sauce.  You will never taste them.  Excellent source of protein added to your meal.

I'm with JohnyMac on this one.  The honey will survive as long as the container doesn't expose it to the environment.
Rice, pasta and beans would succumb to insects and mice in short order - then fungi and mold.
in a supermarket; salt, vinegar.  maybe baking soda.  all assuming you don't expose the contents to air.  canned goods would last until the cans rusted through.
If the super market is in a desert things might survive longer.
