Freeze Dryer Discussion

I receive a lot of emails from folks asking me what I know about Freeze Dryers. Unfortunately, I respond "nada".

Lets start a discussion here from actual folks who have and use regularly a freeze dryer. The good, bad, and ugly.

"I don't know nothin' about birthin' no freeze driers". Please don't throw rocks at me. I've always wanted to find a place to use that movie line. My daughter got into drying food but she didn't freeze dry it. She  used some kind of Hot Air device to suck out all the moisture. There are some You Tube Videos that show you how to build one.
