Starting at 1000E hrs, the HWN for Hurricane Helene will start on 14.325 Mhz USB. Around noon it will move to 7.268 Mhz LSB.

I think there are a few UP/ERIN stations monitoring CW also.

Predictions of Helene making landfall near Tallahassee at Cat 4, pushing about 20 feet. 

If you can see, hear, smell or drive to salt water in less than an hour, better head inland.

The Big Bend coast is expected to experience the highest inundation, with as much as 20 feet of storm surge from Carrabelle to Chassahowitzka. Residents are being urged to leave the coast for safety if authorities tell them to.

  I?ve been monitoring the Hurricane Net most of the day and evening.  I?m glad I don?t live near the coast.  However, we?re under a flash flood and high wind warnings, even though we?re hundreds of miles from the gulf.  It?s been raining very steady since noon. Looks like we might have a couple of interesting days ahead.

I am in Middle Georgia. I monitored both the local VHF repeater hurricane net and the Georgia HF on 3.975 most of the night last night. It was fun to hear the various weather reports from locations around the state as the hurricane moved north through the state. We were lucky as the weather seemed to be more of a rain event as compared to a wind event. There were several power outages around us, mostly due to fallen trees, but the outages usually only affected a few homes in that local area and are being repaired quickly. So far I have not discovered any damage.
