Ted Nugent: Going to State of the Union Address

I will not be watching the State of the Union tonight as my TV is only for movies and such - No Cable. But it might be worth watching as Ted Nugent is attending and will be in the Gallery seated in front of the President. More below...

Ted Nugent, the gun-loving, bow-hunting rocker whose staunch defense of Second Amendment rights and inflammatory insults of President Obama have made him a hero with many conservatives, will attend the president?s State of the Union address on Tuesday night.

Mr. Nugent, who is also a National Rifle Association board member, will be a guest of Representative Steve Stockman, a Texas Republican who recently made headlines by threatening to file articles of impeachment against Mr. Obama if the president issued executive orders that strengthened gun control laws.

In a telephone interview from his ranch in Texas on Monday, Mr. Nugent said that he planned to sit in the House of Representatives gallery during the president?s speech and that he would hold a news conference afterward, an event that seemed likely to turn the decorous setting of the State of the Union into a tabloid spectacle.....

Here's the Snopes piece on the Nuge. You decide whether he was a draft dodger. In my view, he was. And he has also committed statutory rape in the heyday of his rock n roll career, but that is based on various unconfirmed stories I've heard over the years.

Bottom line, I think he is scum, and not worthy of the attention he garners. He is a shameless self-promotion con-artist and chickenhawk.

For the record, I've been anti-Ted for many years (decades almost) prior to his statements toward Obama.

I am amazed at the amount of bad press that is dedicated to him on the internet. What that means to me is that he worries the left a bit.

If he bagged Courtney Love when she was under age I care not one wit. I do know that he contributes an inordinate amount of time and money towards the folks currently in the military and retired. Does he do this out of guilt or out of charity I know not.

Please, I do not want to get in a pissing match over Ted. Let's leave it at you do not respect him and I do.

No problem JM. I said my piece about feelings toward him. There are alot of other bigger things to be concerned about and plenty we agree upon to take this any further than it needs to be.
