 How can you feel sorry for them when they don't fight back. Here in the USA they would quietly disappear or turn up dead wrapped in bacon.

@JoJo, wrong or right, it is not in Swedish culture to fight back. to this point, it is becoming the culture in all of the EU countries.

 @ JohnyMac- Even the most timid animal will fight back, to not fight back makes you lower than an animal.

 They remind me of the people at the end of the story "Time Machine by Orson Wells" who just hung around being fattened up just to be food for the underground people.

Yupper JoJo yupper.

I know I have told this observation before but worth retelling.

When MrsMac and i were in Scotland visiting relatives. The news at the time was being taken up with the Worlds Soccer play-offs and that there was a burglary in Edinburgh that went bad. The short version is....

A burglar broke into a home to be met by the owner with a baseball bat. The owner beat the burglar and then called the cops. The cops arrested the home owner.

We didn't understand and brought it up to our relatives. They explained that it was against the law in Scotland to defend ones life or property with anything that could have been considered a weapon.

Liberal thought and then acceptance, whether it be in the UK, Sweden, or the USofA, must be opposed at all cost.

JohnyMac  It also happens here especially in New York and The Police State of New Jersey.
 My father in NYC was robbed in his store at gunpoint and my father cut him pretty good and the police wanted to arrest him.
But I still cannot comprehend not defending yourself and family. 
 We had a Home Owners Asso. meeting with a police officer and I asked him if Delaware you were allowed to defend yourself in your home. I got the same answer I got when I lived in NJ "Make sure he is dead and don't let him get out of the house. If he does drag him back in." STUPID.

Just talking about me...

If someone held me up. lets say at a ATM, I would give the robber the money and not draw my EDC. Life to me is way to precious to kill someone over a robbery.

Now if the robber continued to threaten me after I acquiesced and gave him/her the money, I would draw and shoot to kill.

If someone entered my house uninvited and did not respond to my demands, I would shoot to kill.

Notice that in both scenarios, I gave the perp the opportunity to leave or respond to my demands. There is no second chance.

NO NO NO, never shoot to kill.  That will get you in a sling real real quick.

Shoot to stop the threat.  Even if it takes 4 in the chest and 2 in the face.

Shooting to kill is criminal intent to murder.

Shooting to stop the threat is personal defense.
