Hi all,

I thought I might drop a note on this.

The MSM is all over the news of protests over here. Though a few things might interest the group here.

1. Yes there were protests. Yet the turnout was not as large as people would like to make out.
2. There are a massive amount of people that are really pissed off with the protesters. Mainly that the protesters represent a tiny sector of the society over here.
3. There was also a pro-trump protest that was just as large as the anti-trump one.

As per usual the snow was strong with a bunch of people.

Seems little coverage being done on the Pro-Trump gatherings.  London Mayor determined them to be unlawful harmful gatherings.

Seems Free Speech idea is dead there.

Police in Sadiq Khan’s London have used the Public Order Act to prevent a rally in support of U.S. President Donald Trump outside the American embassy, despite permitting a large, ill-tempered anti-Trump rally on Friday.

Protestors attending the ‘Welcome Trump’ event had planned to gather outside the embassy and march from there to Whitehall, where they would have joined in with a separate ‘Free Tommy Robinson’ event in support of the activist and independent journalist who was recently imprisoned for contempt of court after reporting on a grooming gang trial.

But the Metropolitan Police Force, which answers to a large extent to Mayor of London Sadiq Khan, used the Public Order Act to impose a raft of restrictions on both groups of protesters which made this impossible —  despite allowing far larger anti-Trump protests at which at least six people were arrested to go ahead on Saturday, with demonstrators carrying signs emblazoned with harsh profanity and messages such as “Die Trump Die”.

    The Police have slapped Section 12 of the Public Order Act on the pro-Trump rally at the US Embassy.

“I was planning to go to the American embassy to meet with a group of demonstrators who are planning to welcome Trump into the country… it’s really good to see him in this country, and speaking truth to the people in power in this country,” explained David Kurten, an elected member of the London Assembly for the Brexit-supporting UK Independence Party.

“But as I came out of the police station I was handed this piece of paper by a couple of friendly police officers, who were just doing their job, but they’ve imposed Section 12 Public Order Act conditions on the assembly outside the American embassy, which means that people are not allowed to proceed or have a march or any kind of demonstration,” he claimed.

“And we’ve also been told that if I go to the American embassy in a group of three or more people that I’m liable to be arrested myself — so free speech is dead,” he concluded.

“What this is, is Sadiq Khan not wanting people to express pro-Trump values,” added Young Independence Deputy Chairman Reece Coombes.

“But as soon as probably only a few thousand of us want to protest in favour of Trump and show our support for the leader of the free world, we are banned, we are silenced, and we are censored.”

Mayor Khan actively encouraged the anti-Trump protests, and was active in the media defending his decision to authorise an “obscene” balloon caricaturing the U.S. President on grounds of freedom of speech and the right to protest.

The restrictions on the ‘Welcome Trump’ event are only the latest example of what critics have described as double standards in this area, with the Mayor having previously provided almost £2 million in funding for an “online hate crime hub” for police to tackle mean comments on the Internet, and banned fitness supplement adverts featuring attractive women from the London Underground.

@Nemo, its the reason the Freedom of Speech is front and center on the US of A bill of rights.  It makes it hard (well harder) to hide things.

I agree..... When they start paying my Taxes for me, then maybe I'll care what they have to say. Every country on the planet has been totally ruined. Our country has even started to suck but we're still the best place on earth to live.

The snowflakes over here are spouting the same rhetoric as those in the states. So not really surprised.

The media reporting and bias is to blame here.

It is sad that the VERY vocal minority who is shouting the loudest claims to represent the bulk if the populace. Nothing can be further from the truth. It is just that the average citizen holds the Snowflakes in such contempt that they refuse to provide them with legitimacy by taking to the streets an yelling also.

Sometimes we forget that by reacting to the idiotic public displays in a like manner provides legitimacy to this fring of society.

We often forget that the average citizen understands how things work. They understand that the way to influence how things are run begins and ends at the ballot box.

So I have faith in the mature majority that thinks before forming their opinions.

The reason I have faith is that there has been proof in the pudding in recent times.

Just look to the election of President Trump by the people. Look to the Brexit vote by the people of the UK.

Btw I respect the will of the UK populace on the whole Brexit thing. I do however take issue with the sloppy and uncoordinated manner of the execution of such by the political establishment.

The people have decided.

When I was over there way back in '95 I did get into London for a day.  There were actually some people standing on wooden boxes, one was actually marked "SOAP" on the sides, while speaking rather loudly about problems of the day.

Most of them were in park like areas around the Old Baily, as I recall.

Soros and Obama are behind the protests in London.

I am blown away of the coverage of Mr. Trump on this Putin meet. Shumber just said it "was treasonsus". What a piece of crap! If Trump wasn't talking to an enemy he would be negligent in his duties as President.

 Even Putin knows Soros is behind a lot of the problems, he said it in the interview.
 As far as the democrats saying Trump shouldn't have spoken to Putin are idiots. If you don't know your enemy you will never be able to defeat him and it is best not to anger him before you are ready.
 My wife is so angry at the democrats it might be a good idea to lock up my guns.   She is a convert, was a democrat once upon a time.
