bro fuck that new round, I'd just be happy to see m855 drop in price. plus, they can keep all that increased chamber PSI nonsense. I'd gladly sacrifice a hundred or so FPS if it means my rifle keeps trucking twice as long.

for the military? idunno... but for civies... probably just not pretentious enough for all the super secret-squirrel ninja operators out there. while guys like us are missing our targets by at LEAST 5 ft. @ 20yds with our silly m855, they'll be nailing headshots @ 1500yds with every pull of the trigger.

BOOM!!! Headshot!

That line of DNA needs to end.  If a crash ever does happen I hope he doesn't live near me.  I'm sure there are others around here though.

Its all a joke, sledge, the guy is acting.  Its been around on the net forever, and he's part of an acting group, and he's just acting like some of these people that used to get way into FPS shooter video games.

Oh, Ok.  LOL!  Well, he's a pretty good actor then.  'Cause he had me convinced he was going to be threat to someone and needed to be removed.

what an article reaver.
If they do switch to this POS maybe there will be a massive surplus of m855, that'd be awesome.

For civilian use M855 is invaluable. I mean, I personally don't like the round & if I wasn't worried about a civil war I would say its fucking useless... BUT government troops are a real possibility and body armor is all over the streets now days.

Every second or third round will be a steel penatrater in my mags.

Also, think about it, after the first round, or the first few rounds, people are going to jumping behind concealment or maybe weak cover, it would be nice to be able to reliably punch through an entire car with a round, the doors, or trunk, not the engine of course, you'd need a .50 or something to make it through and engine block.

No, an M855 will do it.

In a Sabot 308 or bigger  :))

Any rifle cartridge above 30 cal. has the potential to do that at close to medium ranges.  Especially the way they're building cars lighter these days.  Even if the round doesn't totally penetrate through the vehicle it will it will cause enough noise and flying debris to make remaining behind the car uncomfortable.

I wouldn't waste rounds aiming at the engine block area unless the car was moving and I wanted to slow or stop it.

That's why I'm worried about the .223 round not going through light cover, like a car.

If you reload, look into this for penetration through cover with reliable expansion on soft targets.

If you don't reload or just would like to try out the following bullet for testing, I suggest this.
