UP signal channel?
« on: December 01, 2021, 08:03:27 PM »
Dumb question (maybe not) is there an UP signal channel as well? If not, is anyone interested?

Unchained Preppers. Signal is a better way to communicate than group text, etc.

What is Signal?

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

LOL...

There is no UP (Unchainedpreppers) Signal Channel (Hunt Group).

HERE is an explanation of what Signal is.

Regardless of what this article states, "encrypted end to end"; I am sure there is a backdoor that the Feds can enter and get the encrypted message then feed it into a computer to decipher. With that said, it would be a pain in the ass to do and by using Signal you slow down the FLEAS. Another benefit of Signal, is that you can sent set the time that the message is erased (purged) completely from the system. I have mine set now at 4-hours.

UP subscribers; if you would like to start a UP Hunt Group send Obh an UP email letting him know that you are interested. If a Signal UP Hunt Group is started, Obh will pass onto me the folks that wish to participate and I will vet them before they are set up.

In closing, although not perfect, Signal is a good form of comms to have in your arrow quiver.

Our MAG uses telegram, which is similar.  Our standard SOP is to assume that all messages are intercepted, so don't send anything that is important, or that could break any laws.

OK, as I understand it, Signal is an encrypted, end to end, text messaging program, with automatic deletion capabilities.

Once reaching the go to end, it is automatically decrypted and visible.

It communicates phone number to phone number.

Am I correct?

Does it have password access capabilities?  Or does access to your phone give you access to that program and still "live" messages?

Would I need to set up password access to my phone to protect access?

We had a Zello channel too, which was started by Patriotman.  Not much came of it though.

Here's an article which compares the various "encrypted" apps: https://www.offgridweb.com/preparation/encrypted-messaging-apps-ranked-by-the-fbi/

Signal is by far the better choice for encrypted comms. To my knowledge, the alphabet boys don't have an "in". They've subpoenaed signal multiple times, to which they've always responded we don't store information. https://signal.org/bigbrother/cd-california-grand-jury/

Zello is only encrypted for 1-1 conversations, group channels are encrypted before sending, but are server stored.

Telegram works basically the same way as zello.

If I recall correctly, everything other than signal has turned over information pertaining to J6 when subpoenaed, so that should tell you how secure they are.

You can set up signal so it requires a separate password/code to get in. Highly recommended for additional security.

If the hunt group is something desirable, like the boss said, let me know.
