damn boy! you're getting awful good at that. my port loads are a bit on the slow and sloppy side, mainly because I've yet to acquire any dummy rounds to practice with, so my only real practice is live-fire at the range. I really need to go get some dummies, especially after watching how good you've gotten! lol

I cant remember if you reload or not Nola but if you do just reload dummy rounds. leave the spent primer in and no powder (add extra shot to make up the weight), thats all ive got. I dont reload but my friend does so he made'em for me. Better then snap caps because its the real weight and feel and way cheaper. If your worried about "hurting your firing pin" just cut pencil eraser's and stick them in place of the spent primers (way better then your firing pin smashing into an equally hard surface like in a snap cap).

No prob Nola  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co

If the crimps start to fail (eventually they will) just glue them shut, i used fabric glue i had laying around because its got some thickness to it.

You can use this same method to waterproof rounds if you know your going to be getting really wet on a mission.

just to let you know, you don't even need to reload to make these dummy shotshells. all I did was cut open the top of a new shell, emptied the shell, shot the primer  :P, put the shot back in and filled the rest up with wood glue.

and just a quick side note: if anyone decides to mimick my method of making these dummy shells, keep in mind that you're using ALOT of glue, so it may be wise to let them sit for several days or even a week before using them. you don't want to have to clean glue out of the action of your shotgun.  ;)

I guess you could use wax if you're impatient. I don't know how well it will stand up to abuse though. I know Iraqveteran8888 loads his "waxer" slugs all the time, but then again he only needs the wax to stay put long enough to shoot the shell. we're talking about repeated chambering and ejection over a long period of time. maybe I'll make a few wax ones and let you guys know how they hold up.

Nevermind i didnt read your second to last post...

But instead of cutting off the top of the shell cant you just peel the crimp open?

Why are you using so much glue NOLA? Just glueing the crimp shut right?

that's all I would be doing but I don't have any spent shells so I'm opening up new shells (just birdshot, nbd). I figured out real quick that it's a HUGE pain in the ass to get the wad out because it's extremely difficult to straighten out the top rim of the shell. (where the plastic bends over to form the crimp) so I got tired of trying and just cut the top off. so I just dumped the shot back in after all that BS was done and filled the rest of the empty space with glue... lol.

this would be alot faster and easier with spent shells but I'm impatient.  8)

Damn that is fast as hell, Kenny!  You're straight grease lighting with that shotgun, bro!  Keep up the good work.  I'm not even that fast with my M4 reloads.  I need to practice some more.   [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co
