ITTS Handgun 1
« on: December 02, 2012, 02:30:41 PM »
Wow, i took the class.....HORRIBLE.. i only made it through day one because i couldnt justify the 2 hour drives gas money to attend day two. Why they would require this course to attend higher level courses is beyond me. Day one was ZERO shooting. Ok thats cool well have the instructor Scott showing us stuff on a white board and talking specifically on tactics and gun minipulation etc.. Nope....

His wife taught the class. The instructor with these decades mof real world experience who was suppose to justify my 400 dollars for a class where only 200 rnds or less will be fired cruised in around noon and talked for 15 mins and then handed it back off to the wife while he cleaned guns on the side the rest of the day and never hardly said anything. The course had 14 people in it at $400 a pop and this guy cant even swallow the pill of teaching the damn class himself.

The class was half the wife talking about it being important to have a good rape whistle and yada yada and half 90's video's about scenario's. They were applicable and good info for the 90% new shooters in the class. But to REQUIRE this crap in order to take a normal level class where youve actually shot a gun before... retarded.

This class was designed for a person who has never even held a gun. If i had known this i would have saved the $400 no question.

The straw that broke the camels back was when the wife said that if you dont plan on training much get a glock but if your going to get really good and train a lot then go with a 1911. And scott interjected saying the 1911 was the best pistol on the face of the planet...fine you like 1911's.... not one word about go with what works for you nothing... flat out if your new go with a glock and if you get good get a 1911... DONE....

I felt bad for the couple military guys. One guy just by looking at him i could tell he was more advanced and was feeling like i was... what a waste of money.

Ken, I hope you used your credit card to pay for the class. If you did call your CC company and put a hold on payment. Then write a letter to Scott explaining your position and offering a compromise like:

> You will lift the hold on his money if you receive the next level of training, or
> You will pay for the first day ($200) you attended but will not pay for the second day because the class was not what was
represented ($200). At least you will save $200-.

I have used this tactic successfully several times. The most resent was with Opticsplanet. My goal is always to get my money's worth or Sr. managements attention. I have never used this tactic to screw anybody.
Good luck.

See these idiots all the time in the shop, usually wanting to put a holder of business cards claiming "NRA certified CCW instructor" on my counter. Last one proudly smiled at me as I came over and found out he was suggesting an old lady (great jewelry customer) about 70 years old and 110 pounds buy a glock 19.    I asked her to rack the slide, pull the trigger and see if she was comfortable with it...    His jaw was on the counter when I sent her down the street to a competitors shop with a note to see AND try an old worn but good Smith m49 and well used Beretta 86.

Took his cards and card holder and advise anyone who looks or asks for one he's a moron to be shunned, avoided and not left alone with sharp objects or plastic bags imho.

Hey Ken, does it say VISA on your debit card? Might want to give them a call anyhow, if you want to fight it. You might be able to argue that he made fraudulent claims. Something as simple as 'the website states that Mr.Soandso personally teaches every class' but this one was being taught by his wife could be more than enough. VISA don't fuck around.

1) I am glad you emailed them. Most people wouldn't have taken the time. When I managed stores I was always very appreciative
when someone would complain. If they didn't I wouldn't know that X had to be fixed.
2) If they respond it probably means they have some 'character.'
3) Lesson learned: Pay with CC not debit card when buying large ticket things or services. You can always pay it off in full but you
     still be protected.  [URL=http://www.smileyvault.co
