Chicago Police Bog
« on: May 18, 2012, 04:20:00 PM »
I came across the other day and thought it would be interesting to follow during the NATO meetings there.

Example of some of the entries.

FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2012
Breaking News (UPDATED)

"Channel 7 just broadcast a bunch of whiny Occupy people demanding the release of some protestors who were arrested last night in Bridgeport. They are claiming peaceful protestors were detained and a building searched without a warrant.

What they aren't saying (and neither is Channel 7) is that these "peaceful protestors" were caught in the act filling bottles with gasoline and sitting with a bizarre assortment of weapons ranging from crossbows to throwing stars."

Well, I'm not quite sure.  But when they are filling beer bottles with gasoline instead of beer it might indicate that they don't intend to drink from those bottles.  I'm not saying they are guilty of anything.  I'm just saying if I was one of those cops I'd be wondering WTF is up with that too.

In Soviet Russia... No wait, this is America!  As far as I know these people could have been pissing in bottles surrounded by love beads and sunflowers.  No warrant, no charges and no fancy police media event showing the evidence.  This smacks of the same shit they've done openly in the UK and elsewhere and, till now, covertly here.

I'm not entirely sure I believe that there wasn't a warrant.  The same story claiming that is the same story that didn't mention the gasoline in the bottles instead of beer.

It could have boiled down to capitalism.  I'm sure in the coming days there will be people in Chicago who would have snapped up those beer bottles of gasoline if offered at a fair price.

I wouldn't be in that city for nothing.  I have a strong feeling that there are going to be a shit load of idiots on both sides of the police lines.

Whether they will turn out to be someone's "useful idiots" remains to be seen.

Was the gasoline and bottles in the apartments that were raided?  I was under the assumption they had caught those kids at one of the vacant buildings and at that bridge.  From what the news has been reporting those two incidents aren't the same.

I don't know about Illinois law but in Texas your landlord doesn't have the authority to give consent (nor enter without prior notice)  to search your apartment if you have a lease or rental agreement and are paid up. Buildings that are vacant? Logically I would think that owners have full say because there's no renters.

When you get into searches there's two things to looks at: Probable cause and probable suspicion.  I.e. If the cops believe they smell dope smoke from a dwelling then they are within the law to kick the door in check it.  No warrant needed.  The burden on LEOs at that point is that there needs to be sufficient suspicion that a law is currently being broken.  The courts took what used to be the "suspicion of imminent danger of life and limb" theory and stretched it a bit to encompass pretty much any illegal activity.  Score one for the forces of evil.

Walker, if someone from the dwelling called the cops and told them there was an illegal activity going on in the apartment then that's probably going to fall into "reasonable suspicion" category.  But to execute a fully coordinated raid with TV station coverage I think that burden would fall into the needing a warrant arena.  Thinking about the way this was done as Sledge pointed out  - a preemptive strike" then I'd almost bet a warrant has to be executed.   OTW you're right - it's a thought police game.

FWIW - LEOs aren't bound by law to tell the truth unless they are sworn and on the stand.  I guess it'll all come out in the courts and I have a feeling the lawyers are going to have a heyday with some of this stuff.  But seriously, throwing stars?...LOL What is Chicago full of ninjas?

Here's a youtube the guys arrested put up when they were harassed on their way to Chicago.  It's obviously been edited.  But it does indicate LE was interested in these guys and keeping track of them.  The cops seemed to enjoy giving them some shit.

Like I said.  Chicago is going to be full of idiots on both sides of the police line.  The possibility of shit occuring there is probably close to 90% if not 100%.

Fuck the police.

I'd side with OWS over any PD in the country.
PD's are arms of the state, and will act accordingly when push comes to shove.

I certainly don't want things to get violent, but to some extent i see it as an inevitability, and we all know who's going to start the fight if there is going to be one and it sure as hell won't be the US people.

It will be the same people who ordered the jack boots into Waco, into Ruby Ridge, these are the same motherfuckers who raid organic farms and take people's kids away for unpopular political beliefs. The same scum that sends guns to the cartels in mexico,  the same scum that sends the nation's youth away to fight for unfettered empire.

We aren't violent, they are.
I won't ever start a fight, but i'll do what i can to finish one.
