AUSTIN ?? Transportation Security Administration chief David Pekoske said the agency wants to use technology to reduce the number of screening officers in checkpoints and speed up travel processes as passenger volumes increase.

At Tuesday?s panel at South by Southwest, which focused on accelerating aviation security, he boasted about the agency?s computed tomography technology and biometrics. Despite struggling with staffing a year ago, Pekoske said that nearly 2.4 million people are screened on a given day by TSA.

Screw them...... I have only flown to Chicago and back one time and that was plenty enough for me. No, wait.... I did fly from Roanoke to Richmond one time many years ago. Guess what? I know how to fly a plane and I still don't want to fly commercial. If I'm going to fly, then I want to be in the copilots seat just in case something goes wrong. Even though I don't have a pilots license, I can get that SOB on the ground without killing myself. If I must fly somewhere, I'd prefer to pay a private company and skip all the TSA Bullshit. I remember a time, many years ago, that I had to attend a week long class in Newark, Ohio and I chose to drive my own car and get paid mileage. I left about 6AM and the rest of the people in the office took the plane at 1PM and I beat them there by 4 hours. When I got there, I had a car to drive and could go where I wanted and do what I wanted. Flying isn't all that its cracked up to be.

In a previous life, I flew every week for work. If this becomes mandatory - and I am sure it will - I will not fly.

With the exception of small airports, I typically went through the frequent flyer TSA lines.  No shoe or belt removal.
