Steer Going on to His Great Reward

But I have had the shop save me the hide. I will be getting it and tacking to a 4x8 plywood and scraping. A bit of sun to dry and what do I need do beyond that to tan it up. Or what do I need do after tacking to plywood. OR what after getting it out of the bag or back of truck.

My first shot at something like this. Help!!!

He is a pretty big guy.  I anticipate cutting it into a couple pieces and freezing most of it. I plan on pieces about 2 foot by 3 foot. I anticipate about  5 or 6 pieces.  I will be working on them one at a time and the first one/couple? will be full hair on.  Then leather depending on how those go.

I bought brain tanned deer hides from these guys back in the day. They are also a good source for ground black walnut powder for dying.

Good place to start. Good people to deal with.
