« on: October 15, 2011, 09:06:30 AM »
I ran across this propane conversion kit this morning: http://www.pumpbiz.com/shopping_product_detail.asp?pid=73740

I am going to buy one for my generator at camp.

Yeah it is. I shared it with my farmer/ neighbor who lives across the dirt road from our BOL. When I was up there last week he told me he wasn't interested.

I said, "hey no worries man. If you would rather have to fill your HOT generators tank every 4 or so hours when you have a 100 gallon propane tank sitting there please do by all means."

The next day he came by and told me he worked out a deal with the company to get a discount if he bought two. Then he said, "want to buy one with me?"

Sometimes folks just don't think things through.

Jmac, did you ever get this installed ? If so, how is it working and how difficult was the installation ?

No brat I haven't. I would like to but alas I have not had a job since Sept 2012. Money is a bit short although it is still on the to-buy list.  :)

Hi all,

I thought might chip in a bit on this one.

If you have read the posts about my trailer, you might have seen that my 4x4 is a bi-fuel vehicle. It runs gasoline and has an LPG kit on it. LPG is common for vehicles here and there is a vehicle fueling facility at many gas stations here.

That being said. I really do recommend it. Yes LPG is slightly less energetic than gasoline. Yet here it is half the price of gasoline. The UK gallon is larger than the US and we buy fuel in Litres. So my two litre engine with 31 inch mud tires gets about 25 miles to the UK gallon. So running LPG I am getting what equates to about 42 miles to the gallon.

If you can't find kits there. Look at the EU. Lots of places sell them.

Cheers all.
