Low Drag Chest Rig
« on: August 21, 2023, 05:07:17 PM »
Just read a great article from NC Scout about the low drag chest rig. The article is titled, Low-Profile Chest Rig.

This chest rig would be good backpacking, working a SOTA, or just plain shopping at Walley World.

I am going to get one but not in camo. Probably a Grey Man color.

Have fun!

Looks like a rip-off of the Hill People kit bag, and it's more expensive too.  I've been using one of the Hill People recon kit bags for 5-6 years.  They're very comfortable, and they can carry discreetly a lot of gear.  I use mine when cruising on the e-bike, or when working on my property.  The recon kit bag has a Molle grid on the front, so I've attached a radio pouch to it.  I often throw the recon kit bag in the vehicle when I'm going on a quick trip into town.  Both of mine are in Ranger Green, so they're somewhat subdued.  The Hill People bag is available here: https://hillpeoplegear.com/Products/CategoryID/1/ProductID/5   They manufacture similar bags without the Molle grid too.

1) The low drag chest rig is a good idea, where ever you buy one. Stay away from camo and focus on Grey Man.
2) Here is another chest rig worth taking out. This one is less Grey Man, but worth checking out.

I reached out this morning to Hill People Gear in Colorado to find out if their product is USA made or made overseas. Here was their response,

Quote
Johny,
All of my bags are USA made with USA materials.
I do sell some accessories on my site, survival gear and such, that is made overseas.
Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you,
- William

Quick response for sure and they have some great YT videos checking out their products and uses. Thank you HPG

If you buy one of the three mentioned here, please post a gear review here.

Cool gear, though I could carry a LOT more and look quite natural at WalMart, with a BEER BELLY RIG.

I just bought a woodland camo Blackhawk commando harness on eBay to larp as a delta operator on Tora Bora so tiny rigs aren?t my cup of tea right now.
