Blackhawk Omega IV Ultra Universal Holster
« on: November 04, 2012, 08:40:48 PM »
I just found this holster and I've been looking forever for a decent holster that would accommodate my Sig P226R with the Sigl STL900 laser/light. I've been bouncing around between 3 different forums today, Sig Talk, Open Carry.org, and this one. So I'm not sure where I seen this one mentioned to give credit where credit is due. But anyway, it looks like this could be what I've been looking for. I've seen different people looking for a holster today, so maybe this can help. Kentactic, maybe you could use it.

Just keep in mind that with all soft holsters you will have some degree of "floppage".  Granted I was using a UTG Tornado holster I believe it was, with my 1911 and the amount of flop wasn't too bad.  I have recently switched to the Safariland Universal Belt Adapter for my Safariland holster.  I used the ITS Tac idea of putting a leg strap between the holster and adapter for extra stability, although with my initial tests without it, it was not as necessary as I thought.  Still, it works great and is not as bulky as a drop leg platform.

One thing I do recommend with that route is this.  I use a pretty thick riggers belt and just screwing the adapter to the holster didn't leave a ton of room to slide the thing on.  So I used the 2 plastic washers that were used on my drop leg platform to push it out a hair and it is perfect.  At least for me, best of both worlds.

Its interesting. Only down side i see is that retention snaps going to wear out to the point that it wont stay snapped with lots of use. This holsters something to consider for sure.

I think it would take a lot of use. I'm using a Blackhawk (different model), and it has a thumb snap that doesn't appear to even be getting close to wearing out.
