I wish I owned my house, I'd be digging a well EMAS-style asap.. lol. although building one or two of the pumps still wouldn't be a bad idea because once the lights are out, the electric pumps that draw water from normal wells won't be working (obviously) and you could just dismantle the spigot and use your home made pump. if you know of any wells near you, just make note of them and that'll be your water source post-SHTF!
