Wood on an AR15
« on: August 26, 2014, 11:57:40 AM »
This concept has always been interesting to me. The norm is usually taking old steel and wood technology and updating it with modern materials (Not always making it better). Now take an AR15, a platform that was designed from the start to be aluminum and plastic, and add wood to it.

:faint:  The words "football bat" come to mind.

That last image is by a Fallout: New Vegas fan, I'm 99% certain. Pretty cool, in a nerdy way, but not something I'd do.

If you could guarantee that the wood was solid hardwood, I'd do it in a heartbeat. Wouldn't want my stock breaking when I'm beating someone with it.

This is exactly the reason why I'm considering a wood stock and pistol grip for my imaginary dream build. There's nothing like the feeling of thick hard wood between your fingers.

Have fun with that.
