Walmart has stopped selling semiauto rifles
« on: August 29, 2015, 05:18:19 PM »
Here in Delaware Walmart has been forced to stopped selling firearms for awhile now. But I heard on the news that Walmart will stop selling semiauto rifles. I think it went a bit further than they say. I was in a Super Walmart today which normally had a good stock of 223/5.56 ammo and there was none to be found.
In principle, no less than in practice, socialism is the ideology of thieves and tyrants.

Yes they have, but if you find one in a store buy it.  The price will be down 50-60%  at least.  Reportedly due to decreasing sales of that type rifle.

Walmart Stops Selling MSRs, Some Semi-Automatic Shotguns

Posted by Bob Owens on August 25, 2015 at 4:16 pm

GONE BABY GONE: Walmarts are phasing out Modern Sporting Rifles and some semi-automatic shotguns.

Walmart’s Senior Director for Corporate Communications Kory Lundberg has confirmed rumors that Walmart will no longer be stocking modern sports rifles such as the AR-15, nor semi-automatic shotguns with a magazine capacity of seven or more rounds.

Lundberg states that politics played no role in the chain’s decision to stop selling the rifles and shotguns, and that it was purely a business decision that drove an inventory correction.

Not all Walmart stores carry firearms, and those that do typically tend to sell much higher volumes of entry-level bolt-action rifles, lever-action centerfire rifles, single-shot shotguns,  and pump-action shotguns.

Sales of the more expensive semi-automatic shotguns and centerfire semi-automatic rifles lagged significantly behind.

Walmart has made the decision to sell out their remaining inventory of the discontinued firearms at closeout prices, and we’ve seen claims on the Internet of some lucky Walmart shoppers picking up Bushmaster AR-15s for as low as $250. Lundberg was unable to substantiate those rumors, but did say remaining firearms that are being phased out are being steeply discounted.

In place of the discontinued MSRs and shotguns, Walmart will bring in other models of economical firearms to match the hunting-driven fall product mix.
If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

Hit them where it hurts...Don't buy anything from Walmart's.

Personally I hate the store and can not remember when I purchased anything from them in awhile.

When places like Cheaper Than Dirt had .556 shells for $15 a 5 gallon bucket full.
Mostly Berdan Primers - cheap Czechoslovakia and Chinese ammo - people either hoarded it or shot it thinking that there would be an endless supply.
When the supply dried up and the price of ammo went from $1 a box to $25 a box, a lot of people quit shooting their .223 rifles.

I don't like those cheap BB guns.
Most of my stuff is either 10 gauge, 12 gauge or .27 / .30 caliber.

With my health, my days of buying guns or ammo is coming to an end!

Exactly....vote with your dollars. Haven't been in a wally world in over 11 years. I refuse to give them my money, which they in turn use to donate to the liberal agenda.

Interesting brat!

I think Sam is spinning in his grave. We used his business model when we started and expanded West Marine. Those damn Harvard/Yale business folks drive me crazy. They screw everything up. The same folks drove the WM stock price from ~$18 a share down to ~$3 a share within 18 months after I left (Their bur under their saddle) and the founder retired from the Board. Now 10 years later it never gets above ~$12  a share and hovers around $9. Bastards!
