Title: Tulla Ammunition 7.62x39
Post by: Grudgie on January 10, 2015, 12:18:01 AM
I'm wondering what results other people are having with their Tulla 7.62. I don't shoot my AK very often, but I have had alot of bad primers that failed to ignite on the first strike. I believe around 3-4 misfires in ~250 rounds. My question is is this common for everyone else or should I start looking into my AK?

Common I wouldn't worry about it to much. Pick up the round and re strike you got a 50-70% chance it'll go off

Tula in my experience has been 100% GTG for range ammo.
You also could check your hammer spring and check your firing pin protrusion... :cowboy:

Ive shot about 1300 rnds of tulla and only had 3 or 4 failures. I love that ammo. I buy decent brass cased 308 for my FAL. Butt i only buy cheap ass steel for my ak. And tulla is the majority of my 762x39.

What kind of failures were they?

All were ftf, fail to fire. Primer was struck and dimpled, no boom. I couldnt get those rnds to fire on second and third strikes so they really were bad primers.
Ive never had a hangfire or failto extract though. For my wasr and my sks i love the steel cheap stuff.
