Good video Erick! I am stoked that Max is the first of his kind of trainers to push PT in a broader less boring and challenging way rather than just doing; Pushups, running, Burpees, etc

For you folks who may not be aware, Max is pushing PT and skills needed, through an Obstacle Course challenge called, Rifleman Challenge (http://www.maxvelocitytactical.com/2014/12/mvt-rifleman-challenge-patches-are-in/).

The challenge envolves:
1. (move) PT Test: ‘2-Miler’,

2. (shoot) Combat Shooting qualification: rifle & handgun,

3. (shoot) Weapon Manipulation,

4. (move) Navigation,

5. (move) Team Casualty Evacuation

6. (fight) Move Under Direct Fire,

7. (fight) Break Contact Under Direct Fire, and

8. (fight) Conduct Tactical Combat Casualty Care.

If anybody is interested in doing this with me and then taking the 3 day test/exam at Max's facilities in WV. Let me know.

In fairness it was a great video and I dig that he is pushing physical fitness.. you run to the fight, run to the flank and run out on your ex.. that shit is important!

But yeah it was call the Ranger Shuffle back in my day.

Erick thanks for posting. At one point I knew that as the Airborne Shuffle, but no matter what it is good to see a trainer that puts emphasis on physical fitness. Too many training classes are held on a flat range with little to no movement. Any training is better than none but the more realistic the better, and if something occurs that requires one to utilize this kind of training chances are it wont be on a flat range that is perfectly laid out.  I just completed a Team Building course with Costa at Altair Training Solutions new 1200acre facility in Florida.  I run approx 4-5 days a week and try to keep up some level of fitness and I was spent at the end of every day.  Not only does it help to establish the need for fitness but also working with a team (4 and 8 man) as well as emphasizing the use of what should be your most important tool...your brain.

Johnny Mac depending on how I can fit it into my schedule I would love to hit up a Max course with you.

Right on CJS!

It would be great to go to a couple of his courses with people/teams I know. Going by yourself is better than nothing BUT going with a group who would train would be much better.

Hey! I know this guy who has 35 acres of land and is surrounded by another 1,000 or so that a contingent of folks could develop their skills on. Rumor has it that there are two cabins on the 35 acres with very comfortable bunks to rest their weary bones on too. Not to mention I heard that there is a retired chef who lives in one of the cabins  ;)

Just food for thought...
