Surviving bombs
« on: April 16, 2013, 10:37:00 AM »
I thought it would be good for us to talk about surviving bomb attacks like bostons. Obviously if your admiring an abandoned duffle bag and then it explodes you didnt survive. But what should you do when theres a potential for multiple bombs? Where one bombs directing you to a bigger one? When is it safe to go back and help wounded? Its all scenario specific but maybe we can go through a few scenarios. I know for sure i wouldnt be like one of those cops just standing around in the street. Id either be moving or helping some one. When is it time to get off the X and when is it time to help others?

As soon as I saw the blast footage my first thoughts were "biological dispersal" or maybe "dirty bomb" due to the obvious low velocity of the explosion.

I'm no hero.  Provided I was at enough of a distance to be outside of the immediate blast zone, I would have moved me and mine out of the area as fast as possible... but hey, that's just me.

I think my philosophy is to do SOMETHING. Aslong as im not huddled in a corner ill be in decent shape. I might do the wrong thing but atleast i did something. Move with a purpose. I will say it pisses me off that running away is the only defense to bomb attacks. Theres no taking the guy out or anything like that. No matter how badass you are all you can do is run away.

I remember the blast/concussion of a scud throwing me out of my cot and across a tent in Desert Storm.  The number one thing to remember is that if the guy is good people are gonna die anyway and there's nothing you can do to stop it.  #2)  Sometimes shit is random.  (But not really)  God and karma eventually say there's no more you can contribute and takes you home.  #3)  Don't touch anything!  If you do, then you are giving the Darwinists a better argument and keeping your sorry ass alive is no longer my phucking problem.
