Had some fun assembling a new AR (to me) today
« on: April 08, 2018, 10:11:04 PM »

So today I bought a Sig516 upper.

For those who dont know these are pretty high end with cold hammer forged barrels and adjustable gas piston system.

This one was in FDE which I like since I want to avoid the "Black stick" look many AR15s have.. those attract the human eye and as long as you use subdued colors its good to mix them into your rifle.

I got a super deal on the upper.

As it was I had a spare lower lying around and found a nicer stock to put on that lower.

Aaaand I had a spare EOtech lying around :D

Also added a RedX firing pin (with exteneded tip) to handle even the hardest primers.

Only thing left to do is a upgraded trigger group..

I have an economy trigger upgrade that I found in my parts pin and will put it in soon.

Nice rifle.  Now, lets see here:

Adjustable stock--- Yeps, no. 1

Pistol grip-- OMG 2 of them!!!  Call that 2 and 3.

Detachable magazine--  Yeps, no. 4

Flash hider-- Yeps, no. 5

Full semi automatic-- Yeps  no. 6

Likely to qualify as illegal or unlawful weapon?  Especially the full semi automatic. Have to be careful or the govt will come get it and you.  Probably ought to sell it while you can.  Not hard for those to get you in trouble.

You are not real far away so we can meet in Farmville.  I have a friend who has $250 and an Aero Precision stripped lower with a Daniel Defense kit for in it. He is properly licensed to hold on to it.  When you want to meet so I can help you get out of possible big big trouble.

Might want to work on sock install skills.
If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

I just got the upper yesterday..
Have to wait until I get to the range.
The upper is all Sig-Sauer factory assembled.

I often try to break up the 'black stick" nature of the with with different shades.. Sometimes they even get painted Camo.

I'll let everyone know but I really dont anticipate any issues
