Title: RTR Drill on contact
Post by: Erick on July 26, 2018, 07:38:30 PM
This is one of the Better Vids Max puts out.
His is one of the better channels on youtube on these subjects.

He explains and breaks down the "Why" for drills.
This is very important and sorely lacking with many other training providers even those who cover smilar subjects (of which are few and far between)

Listen to his introduction before his demonstration.. its worth your time

Very interesting.  And educational.  I require myself to watch it again a time or 3 when I can give it full attention.

I am glad to hear it fellas.
Max does a fantastic job explaining these things in a nuanced way.

These nuances are often missing with some other providers but I believe they are crucial for folks to understand the subject matter.

That's why his vids are longer than some others but thats because of the nuanced content.

Erick, When did you last train there? It seems like he's renamed the courses and has some new offerings....

Erick

Thanks for the post. I like Max's videos. As you said they are a bit longer but that is due to the quality and as you mentioned the nuance.  I have never trained with Max as of yet, but still have him on the very top of my list of people that I want to train with.

It's been a couple of years. (I been training  a lot on my own or w/ close friends due to access to two great training properties, also I have attended a couple of different courses such as Shivworks ECQC, which is not an Infantry skills course unlike most of Maxes courses. But I still consider the Light Infantry material he mostly teaches the highest pay off curriculum for the armed civilian)

It's true some courses have been renamed or had a day added.

Also The CQB course has a different instructor now .. But none of those really changes the applicability of the course IMHO and Max still does a very good job IMO to get the nuances right in his writings and vids.

I wish he would eliminate that coffee cup from the video.  I found him stopping to take a drink every minute very annoying.  However, the information that he was imparting was very good.
