If you can, try and find a place that sells powder, nearby, say within a 45 minute drive or so. That will take care of the hazmat fee. That's what GAP does. Plus you usually meet some awesome people at these places. The one he goes to is IraqVeteran's store, and its good to meet with other preppers and gun people.
I know gas is expensive, but to really save money on reloading you have to load up, so save up a bunch of money and buy in bulk. Maybe even by everything else at the store while you are there as they have it. Help keep places like that in business.
I understand if you can't find somewhere that sells reloading supplies, but most of the time, you have look really hard to find it, because they don't really advertise it usually. So yeah, look hard and find a local place to save money on the hazmat fee.
