Any time Jm.

I suggest everyone take the time to view the series. Basic marksmansip is fundamental.

When I was still back in the states. The most valuable firearm I had was a Nylon 66 with a 4x scope on it.

The reason is pretty simple. Within an acceptable distance I could take a head shot with it. Don't be fooled. A shot to the head with a 22lr will do the deed all day. The cost of ammo is great.

A great story here. Many of the people I served with at the Markmanship Unit had a unique view on hunting. I shared thier methods. The majority of them to include myself only took head shots on dear and Pigs. Why? We were good enough to take the shot and we were good with the fact that if we missed there was less chance of a wounded prey.

Go to the range and shoot from 300yds and farther with high power stuff. Shoot alot. Dont worry about wearing out your rifle. Not gonna happen.

Was thinking of doing a post about my take on firearms for the prepper.

That and due to being in the UK, a post on how to prep in a society without firearms.

I will get some thoughts together.

Thanks Gadget.  I will watch those, take notes and probably download to review on a regular basis.  Only watched about 3 minutes of your link by jumping through.  I pay attention and learn and I might get my rifleman patch next time.  Yay Me!!   :fuckYeah:

I always did think the best thing anyone could do to increase their shooting skills was to enlist.  Unfortunatley (and I kick myself every time) I did not.  However the best thing I have found next to that is Appleseed.

Go for a weekend and most will probably learn more than they knew they did not know and relearn a crapton of stuff they did know but have forgotten.

Wife and I went to one back in September.  She had not fired a rifle in 40 years and the last thing she shot was a 58 cal Springfield 1863 cap and ball rifle.  She paid attention, learned and scored better than I.  TELL NO ONE!  I shall deny it and cast aspersions on any that do.

Watch these for classroom, do Appleseed for range time and go get your Rifleman patch also.  You that you should be good on Zombies out to about 200 yards.  Non-zombie disgruntled persons probably out to the 400 yard range.

Due to head v body shot requirement for zombies.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

Hi All,

Please forgive me for bumping this thread, yet this is important.

I spent 10yrs with the U.S. Army Marksmanship Unit and spent most of my career in the Army demystifying marksmanship.

The fundamentals do not change and without practicing the fundamentals you cannot be effective.

You can learn the fundamentals from these videos and then practice them on the range.

I gave this class for many years so understand the content.

Peace all.
