MG U.P. Chest Rig

Designed and tested in collaboration with John Mosby (former U.S. Army SF 18 Bravo), the U.P Chest Rig is the ultimate concealable chest rig. It is designed to be worn under a light cover garment (jacket, hoodie, etc.). This rig is also awesome for your bugout bag / kit because of its ultra compactness!

I should make clear that our company actually makes this  :thumbsUp:

Wanted to make sure it didn't look like i'm trying to pose as someone else who "found" this product :)

We worked closely with Mosby to come up with this - it's really great if I do say so myself.

Our group of guys all have one, and they actually typically use it for our standard training days.

Yes, they are 4" polyester elastic. No plastic

With Floki joining UP and me checking out his product offering, I have been rethinking my kits - Patrol vs. Grey Man kit.

Now, until proven wrong, I like how my two layer patrol kit works -Page 4, post 77; However it would be poor choice in a heads down, not wanting to draw attention type of drama.

Interesting review there.  Some of the comments discuss adding a pouch for a couple handgun magazines.  I was thinking that myself. 

Perchance something high on the shoulder straps or such.  Something to consider.

But it is quite the interesting rig and that video has moved it to high on my `needa get` list.

I'm Floki's brother and have used the UP rig quite a bit and was involved to some degree in the initial discussion of the design. The idea is to keep it as low profile as possible. As such it really wouldn't be possible to add pistol mag pouches without compromising some of that clandestine capability, especially on the shoulder straps. Your pistol mags would be in a belt pouch or even pockets in that scenario. There are similar chest rigs available that have PALS webbing on either side of the elastic M4 mag pouches. Who knows, if there's enough call for it maybe you guys can convince floki to make one like that.  ;D  It wouldn't be as low profile though so the application would be somewhat different, although there would be a fair bit of overlap.

Swampy's right on point. This rig was specifically designed to be easily worn under a cover garment in an SHTF, urban environment.

Imagine SHTF is underway, but you are still able and needing to travel into town for supplies. You obviously don't want to be in full kit walking down the streets, so you put on the U.P. Rig under a light jacket, or even hoody - and roll into town, unnoticed and inconspicuous. Keep your rifle stowed between the seat and the console or somewhere easily accessible but out of sight.

Mosby described a similar scenario, and this rig is absolutely perfect for what it is designed to be used for.

Thinking more about the setup and situations designed for,  I really like it.  Really like it.

But also thinking about the idea of pistol mags on there.  Perchance one on each outside end or inside in between the 1/2 then 3/4 pouch.

That IMHO would be a great asset.  So you are in your car driving to town.  Rifle is easily accessible and a bit hidden.  In any situation its tough to access and employ a rifle while in a car, unless its already in hand and ready for use while you are in the passenger seating area, front or back.

Like the old saying, you use your handgun until you can access your rifle.  And a spare pistol mag would be an excellent thing.

Gents, really consider that.  I think it would really be a great selling point.

I think you have a good point, although for me and most of the guys I train with, we all carry at least 1 spare mag on our belts or in our pockets along with our EDC handgun, so I wouldn't really have a need for handgun mags on the rig since i'd assume I have enough handgun ammo on me to fight to the rig / rifle.

However, I am absolutely considering your request. I'm actually thinking maybe we can offer an option that has 3 M4/AR mags and 2 pistol mags that would fit between the M4/AR mags....This way you still have a decent rifle loadout, but don't sacrifice the slim, low profile design.

After the video review from The Survival Outpost, we got some requests for closed-top mag pouch options for more rural use of the rig as opposed to its original, urban / clandestine design.

Think you make one that won't over power an 11 year old boy? A small 11 year old boy?

I can make you any size you want. The harness should be adjustable for an 11 year old but the belt I could make as small as you wanted.

If you place an order for the smallest one and leave a comment in order notes or something I can make it happen!

I'll think about it. Currently I'm seeing if I can just build my sons rig from left over gear. If it proves to troublesome or just wont work I'll place an order for sure. Gotta help out smaller businesses as long as the product works as advertised.

We can customize to whatever you want for a small extra charge. Since originally this rig was designed to be worn under concealment, we didn't care much for color options. However we are seeing a growing use for more of a gray man, but out rig.

I can do multicam for no extra charge - message me. If you want atacs I'd charge a little extra since we don't stock it yet.
