Didn't know where to put this as it's both security and what I've done to prep...... but anyway, this is our newest addition Dexter.

Comes from great stock, we're expecting good things from what we've seen the last two weeks.

There was some Cinemax guy who was a serial killer and worked as a police evidence technician (or some such) who chose his victims by finding other serial killers who they could not convict or something.  That guys name was Dexter also.  Watched it a time or 2.  Hope puppy becomes serial killer of things you tell him to handle only.

And hope you are not a Dexter yourself.  Puppy looks like he has some Rotty and/or Shepard in him.  What is he.

My next one will be a good large Shepard probably.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

God created Man, Col. Sam Colt made him equal, John Moses Browning turned equality to perfection, Gaston Glock turned perfection into plastic fantastic junk.

Congrats!

We just expanded our family by 2 Dutch Shepherds.  They are only pups but Im looking forward to to training them as well as having them in the family. My better half says I am not allowed to get them trained to be cert service dogs (she wants the cuddle factor).  A friend has a Belgian Malinois that is a service dog that he brings everywhere including on flights.  You and I may not be able to get through security at an airport with a weapon, but as long as his dog is with him he is always armed.  Gives new meaning to EDC.

Have a great time with the new family member.

Those shepards intended to be a breeding pair?  I would be interested in adoption at some point if they were.

Awesome news CJS!

My Dutchie has been a real positive addition to the house. Although she is not trained to attack she always gives me the look when people come by that Means "Are these people OK?" She even gives me "the look" for people she knows. LOL.

Good luck brat and CJS with the new additions to your life

Nemo.... That Dexter is "exactly" who he's named after. He's a GSD. Too bad for you about CJS's pups, but even down South here we gotta be at least 1st cousins..... :dancingBanana:

CJS.... congrats on your pups. And yes, you're always "armed" when your hounds are with you and they are always "cocked and loaded". You still can consider the training and have cuddle though. Use English commands for home, German for work. The dog will know the difference.... when to turn on and when to turn off. You know they gotta have a job to go to.

As for Dex, we got him at six weeks, he's now 8 and in that short time he's got his name, come, sit, lay, stay, get and fairly well on leash. Off leash he don't wander hardly at all, which with a puppy's attention span was ok. We start some formal training Nov. after his second round of shots and testing. Real work will begin Feb/Mar. Working with some old K9 buddies again and another friend who certifies GSDs. He's been training only GSD's for almost 40 years. If Dex turns out half as good as Aaron and Nessie I'll have no complaints....

I wish I had the coin to do some formal K9 defensive/offensive training with Dorothy. She is smart as a whip and wants to please me.

When I was stacking wood, she would grab a small log and take it to where I was stacking it  :))
