Title: M1 Garands
Post by: Skippy00004 on December 10, 2011, 06:33:24 PM
Just went to a gun show in east-central Indiana today and saw at least 4 M1 garands under 800 dollars, and an M1a at $765. Had I had the money, I would have picked up the M1a.

Seems like prices are verrrrry good as of late, and if you are in the market to either get started with your weapon preps, or if you need to do some last minute weapon preps, I'd start checking out these shows.

Was it a Springfield? If it was, I would've been very cautious about the $765 price tag.

No it was not, also, it looked pretty weathered.

Yeah, if it's not Springfield, you'd have to really take a look at it to make sure it was worth purchasing. If it was a well-weathered Springfield, I might say different.... There's just a reason that Springfield is the most expensive - they're the best mass-producing M1A manufacturer (if you can call that "mass-producing," lol).

Need Garands? Buy them from the CMP store....

http://www.odcmp.com/Sales/rifles.htm (http://www.odcmp.com/Sales/rifles.htm)

Each one is checked over, and unlikely you'll get some shot out p.o.s. that was never cleaned and a 'effed up gas system.

Hello all, RON L here

In the world of things 3 M-1's exist, the M-1 Carbine (No Thanks), the M-1a (M-14 and the M-1 Garand, I have had all but the M-1 Garand holds a special Place for me! I jsut traded one off but I'm sure on day not so far inthe future an M-1 Garand or M-1A will find it's way into my safe?
